Nokia Releases Qt 4.6.2
Brings Beta of Nokia Smart Installer for Symbian, official Qt port to Maemo 5 and betas of new Qt APIs
Oslo, 15 February 2010 – Nokia today released version 4.6.2 of Qt: the cross-platform application and UI framework. This release brings a new Smart Installer for Symbian (Beta) and a Qt port to Maemo 5, in addition to bugfixes and optimizations made since the release of Qt 4.6.1 in January.Also released today is an update to the Qt Visual Studio Add-in, as well as an updated build of the Qt SDK.

Nokia Smart Installer for Symbian (Beta)
The Smart Installer allows end users with legacy Symbian devices to seamlessly install and run Qt applications. It works by automatically detecting, downloading and installing required Qt libraries as part of the application installation process. Once the final version is released during the first half of 2010, developers will be able to target hundreds of millions of existing Symbian devices, including the Nokia N97, 5800, E72 and many more. Qt port to Maemo 5 Released
A Qt 4.6.2-based port of Qt to Maemo 5 is now released and available for download. This port allows Qt developers to target the Nokia N900 and be future-proofed for upcoming Maemo platform releases, while also being able to target Symbian, Windows Mobile and other embedded and desktop platforms, all with the same code base.Read more.
New Qt APIs from the Mobility Project (Beta)
New APIs from the Mobility Project are also available (in Beta form) along with Qt 4.6.2. These new Qt APIs provide access to mobile device functionality and make mobile development with Qt easier by reducing the need to find APIs outside of Qt.
