As a result of our close cooperation with the platform software teamsfrom leading system on chip (SoC) manufacturers,detailed developerguides, in the form of hardware-specific Qt “mkspecs”, have now beencreated and added to the publicly accessible Qt Gitorious repository.
Theseprecise guides are designed to ease the usually complex andtime-consuming task of bringing up Qt initially on the SoC selected for adevice project.They also assist programmers to take full advantage ofavailable hardware-accelerated graphics engines.Witnessing theever-expanding role of Qt as the device UI and applications developmentframework of choice in consumer and industrial electronics deviceprojects, Nokia Qt and many SoC companies teamed to make these guides areality.
The leveragability of this work is evident, since all devicedevelopment teams working on projects based on Qt and a particular SoCtargetcan feel confident their initial Qt implementation will beachieved more quickly and will run efficiently, effectively andfunctionally.This should help developers get beyond the “gettingstarted” phase and on to the business of building the intended deviceand necessary applications.
