Yahoo! Inc. We are looking for an outstanding research engineer to work in our advertising sciences team.
Yahoo! has more than 500 million unique visitors per month who generate 10+ Terabytes of click-stream data each day, resulting in Petabyte scale data warehouse! Can you be the one to create scalable algorithms that make sense of this largest user data warehouse in the world?
Key Responsibilities
- Rapid prototype and proof-of-concept development
- Develop research tools, libraries, and platforms in the area of data mining and modeling
- Scale new products and features to meet production requirements, measure and fine-tune performance metrics
Minimum Requirements
- MS in Comp Science or related field with 3+ years or Ph.D. with 2+ years of practical
- experience in exploratory data analysis and in data mining processes
- Proven knowledge of data mining and machine learning methods and tools
- Solid OOP skills in C++ or Java on UNIX
- Fluency in Perl, Python, or another scripting language
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Fluent oral English communication, precise written communication in Chinese and English
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Experience in large scale systems like the grid computing framework
- Experience in building and deploying solutions in production
- Experience in leading / managing small to medium sized teams
