We believe that building and fostering a strong and innovative online community is critical to the worldwide success of Qt and propel us into being the leader in cross-platform application and UI development. We are seeking an Online Community Manager for our community site, qt-project.org, who will take us to the next level. Our online community of Qt developers and companies is growing rapidly, and we need someone to help us manage it.

The Qt Project Online Community Manager will play a critical role in our public facing community web presence and be key in connecting our business-driven initiatives from/to our strategic enterprise-related product site, qt.digia.com, from/to qt-project.org. You will have a wide ranging set of responsibilities that will involve designing, developing, maintaining, engaging and supporting our Qt Project community site. Our team is responsible for building awareness around Qt and fostering a strong, vibrant Qt ecosystem. You will do your part to ensure we can execute a primarily web-based community and communications strategy via keeping the Qt-project.org running, adding features and functions needed to keep the community abreast of Qt development and foster interaction.

The position reports to Director of Marketing and is based in either Oslo, Berlin or Finland offices.

The tasks include, but are not limited to, the items described below:

Job description:

    Make the Qt Project site a key driver to enable the Qt community to have a central place for all things Qt
    Participate in developing and designing the site, but be overall responsible for maintaining the overall function of site.
    Project manage requirements to make sure day-to-day functions are active and working
    Day to day contact with our in-house Web developer giving direction on items that need fixing, improving and updating
    Keep updated on new technology and trends in web communication via features and functions needed to keep the community thriving
        Points systems, forums, FAQs, wikis, badges, groups
    Have direct interaction with current and potential community members for the purposes of building engagement, driving participation, and growing the body of content on the community.
    Utilize quantitative and qualitative methods to establish a deep understanding of community usage and member needs, and suggest potential improvements based on that analysis.
    Find and implement innovative ways to connect people and the knowledge resources they need.
    Drive content on the site via our social media channels to make sure that information flows properly between our various online properties.
    Create new content and compile existing content for reuse, working alongside our Marketing, Engineering and Documentation teams.
    Be responsible for day-to-day community moderation tasks and involve community members in such tasks to make sure all angles of moderation are covered.
    Create and manage community reward programs, developer contests etc. to encourage high quality content and to recognize top contributors in the community.



Qualifications

    5-7 years experience from a similar role
    Fluent in English (written and verbal). Strong emphasis on flawless English-writing capabilities.
    Strong interest in community building and software development technologies
    Knowledge regarding templating scripting, programming
    Knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but not required
    Knowledge about Content Management systems, ideally Expression Engine
    Experience with IT networks is a plus
